Three homebuilders are holding a spotlight on the Valdera addition for the Parade of Homes. Kenyon Woods of Authentic Custom Homes, Jay Evans of Two Structures Homes and Jack Evans of TimberCraft Homes went together to make Valdera addition in northwest Oklahoma City one of the seven featured neighborhoods in the parade. The Parade of Homes, organized by the Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association, has more than 100 new homes open free to the public from 1 to 7 p.m. daily through Sunday. Parade books are available at metro-area Best Buy and Arvest Bank locations. 2015 Parade of Homes houses will be open all across the metro area, but six other neighborhoods in addition to Valdera will be spotlighted: •Bent Wood Creek, SW 59 and State Highway 152. •Calm Springs, Britton Road and Kilpatrick Turnpike. •Princeton Park, NW 164 and Portland Avenue. •Rockwell Park, NW 156 and Rockwell Avenue. •Stonebriar, Western Avenue and Danforth Road in Edmond. •Birnam Woods, Bryant Avenue and Covell Road in Edmond. Going in together to bring attention to Valdera has worked well for the friendly competitors. Woods, in fact, has already sold his parade home at 10148 NW 100, a 2,966-square-foot, four-bed, three-bath contemporary-style abode loaded with extras including unusual light fixtures, crown molding and a new kind of wood-looking tile flooring. "That's the name of the game, to try to sell these houses," Woods said. Valdera is northwest of Britton and Morgan roads, south of Northwest Expressway on the west side of Kilpatrick Turnpike. Jay Evans said it's a neighborhood of 1/2-acre lots with homes ranging from 2,500 to 3,500 square feet and from $320,000 to $550,000. He said parade traffic has been heavy at Two Structures' parade homes in Valdera. Jack Evans said the Parade of Homes, the builders' group's biggest annual event, isn't just for potential homebuyers. “It's a great opportunity for you to come out, take a look at what the newest styles are,” he said. “It's a great place to see some ideas for remodeling projects. If you want to remodel your kitchen, your bathrooms, come on out and take a look.
