Two Structures Homes + UCO Real Estate Program: The Broncho House Story

Building Opportunity & Community: Two Structures Homes Bronco Center.

As a proud alumnus of UCO and a longtime advocate for real estate education, Jay Evans, Owner/CEO of Two Structures Homes, launched the Broncho House project to spotlight career paths in real estate for UCO students.

Evans bought a homesite in the Jordan Place Addition of Oklahoma City — 1444 NE 10th St, near NE 10th and Bath, just east of the OU Medical Center — with the goal of constructing a home whose sale proceeds will fund student support in UCO’s Real Estate Program.

But this story doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Around Oklahoma City, the City Center area is evolving rapidly, with new mixed-use developments, civic projects, and plans for a new arena. This blog explores how the Broncho House initiative connects to the momentum in the City Center and how it can become a living bridge between education, real estate, and urban growth.

The Broncho House: More Than a Home

Mission & Mechanics

  • The Broncho House was first built under this model in 2020, with proceeds of that home generating over $47,000 for the UCO Real Estate Program’s scholarship endowment.

  • Evans’ vision has always been educational: he hires a paid real estate intern (a UCO student) to assist in design, procurement, marketing, jobsite oversight, and decision making.

  • The process is interactive: in earlier iterations, Two Structures Homes polled the public weekly — on paint colors, fixtures, door styles — and the “winning” option was used in the build.

  • The Broncho House at 1444 NE 10th St continues in that same spirit: the sale proceeds will revert back to benefit the UCO Real Estate Program.

Educational Impact

  • UCO’s Real Estate Program (under the College of Business) includes courses in real estate fundamentals, law, appraisal, land development, investment, and urban issues.

  • The hands-on internship offers students exposure to real-world challenges in residential development — something rare in many academic settings.

  • The Broncho House is a recruitment and awareness tool, showing that real estate isn’t just buying/selling — it's design, financing, project management, marketing, and community impact.
