Grand opening at Northpark Billy Sims BBQ will have its grand opening at Northpark Mall, 11956 N May Ave., on Saturday with the 1978 Heisman Trophy winner signing autographs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and pulled pork sandwiches offered for $2. The restaurant is owned and operated by franchise partner Rick Wolfe. Wolfe also has a Billy Sims BBQ at 2224 NW 23. Tulsa-based Billy Sims BBQ was named one of the nation's 10 best barbecue chains by The Daily Meal. Builders association installs officers The Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association installed 2017 officers and presented awards at its recent annual inaugural banquet. New officers are president, Don Fryer, Tranquility Custom Homes; first vice president, Tony Foust, DaVinci Homes; vice president-treasurer, Denise Patterson, Denise Patterson Custom Homes LLC; vice president-secretary, Jay Evans, Two Structures LLC. Immediate past president is Kenyon Woods, Authentic Custom Homes LLC. Co-presidents of the Past Presidents Council are Steve Allen, Allenton Homes & Development LLC, and Bryan Kim Turner, Red Rock Builders LLC. Membership chairman is Dusty Hutchison, Alder Fine Homes. Associates Council chairman is Jan S. Astani, First Mortgage Co. Woods was named Builder of the Year. Associate of the Year was Bart Bartholomew, Munsey-M & J Insulation Co. Associate New Member Recruiter of the Year was Reese Wilmoth, Crossroads Roofing Supply. Retention Recruiter of the Year was Justin Wimberley, HUB International. Allen was named Builder New Member Recruiter of the Year. Petersen named Realtor of the Year The Oklahoma City Metro Association of Realtors named Nels Petersen, broker-owner of RE/MAX Preferred Properties, 3705 W Memorial Road, No. 1310, as Realtor of the Year and presented Alan and Heather Davis with the Most Cooperative Realtor Award at the recent inaugural luncheon. Petersen has led several boards, committees and task forces for the group, MLSOK Inc. and the Oklahoma Association of Realtors. The Navy veteran is on the board of directors for the metro Realtors group and MLSOK Inc. and is a past president of both organizations. The Davises were honored for their professionalism, knowledge, passion and communication.
